Last weekend, a small group of runners from The Fitting Rooms travelled to Cambridge to take part in the Wings for Life World Run, raising money for spinal cord injury research.
The race is unlike any other… 130,000 runners, in 111 locations, across 58 countries all start running at exactly the same time.
There’s no finish line, just a ‘Catcher Car’ that sets off 30 minutes after you do. Once the car has caught you, your race is over so the distance you run is completely down to you!
Between the 6 of us we achieved a respectable distance of 86km, with TFR client Nick reaching 18km! However, the global winner – Aron Anderson in Dubai – achieved a distance of 92km, so a huge congratulations from us to him. What an impressive feat!
This really was a fun and exhilarating day out for a great cause and we’re already looking forward to the event next year. We hope even more of you can join us then!
