Starting Fresh This January 2021…
Here are 4 simple steps to follow to help you stay on track with your goals this year:
1) SET AN ALARM
It’s easy to slip into bad habits if you’re not having to get up early for your normal commute, but maintaining a consistent wake up time helps keep your mind and body focussed throughout the day. Try to stick to the wake up time your body was used to, pre-lockdown, and keep your alarm away from your bed so you don’t snooze!
2) THE 2-DAY RULE
Physical exercise is proven to improve your mood, sleep quality, energy levels and productivity so try to do something active every day and never spend more than two days not exercising. That could include going for an early morning jog, following a YouTube HIIT video at home, or simply joining a friend for a long walk around the park.
3) USE A PLANNER TO STAY ORGANISED
Write down all the things you want to achieve, and the reason behind those. If you talk about it, it’s a dream; if you envision it, it’s possible; but if you write it down and schedule it, it becomes reality.
4) UTILISE PARKINSON’S LAW
Parkinson’s Law claims that “work expands so as to fill the time available for its’ completion” so make sure you set realistic deadlines to achieve any given task rather than leaving open-ended schedules. You should find you become far more efficient with your time and can achieve more than you expect.
